Kaori Liviana Young-Alferez was born in Alexandria, Virginia, United States. She is a pure Filipino, but her mother chose to give birth abroad so Kaori could have dual citizenship and enjoy its benefits in the future. Although she was born in the United States, Kaori grew up in Las PiΓ±as, Philippines, her motherβs hometown, where she spent most of her childhood.Kaoriβs childhood was a little complicated. She was raised mostly by her mother after her parents separated while her mother was still pregnant with her. Because of this, Kaori grew up using the surname βYoungβ more often than her fatherβs surname. As she grew older, her parents eventually found their way back to each other, allowing her to use her fatherβs surname as well, although she still uses her motherβs surname on most of her personal documents. Kaori also learned that she had an older sister. With their family together again, they moved to Taft Avenue, Malate, Manila, where they built a home and started living together as a complete family.She may look like a girl who has everything, but Kaori actually lives a simple and ordinary life. Her parents work hard to support their family, while her older sister earns her own money as a kindergarten teacher. As for Kaori, she works hard to maintain her scholarship throughout her college life.Kaori studies at De La Salle University, where she is taking up a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts. As part of her scholarship requirements and her desire to gain experience, she became involved in different school organizations. She currently serves as the Internal Head of the Council of Student Organizations (CSO) and works as a Photojournalist for Team Communications (TEAMCOMM).Kaori has always had a love for photography. Ever since she was young, she has enjoyed capturing beautiful moments through her lens, whether with her camera or phone. What started as a simple childhood hobby eventually became one of the reasons she chose to study Communication Arts.
